At Chestnut Street Primary Academy, we value science as a vital part of understanding the world. Our curriculum inspires curiosity, encouraging children to ask questions, investigate and develop a strong scientific understanding. Through high‑quality, engaging lessons, pupils explore natural phenomena and learn to work scientifically from EYFS to Year 6. Children build skills in observing, questioning, predicting, experimenting and evaluating, supported by rich vocabulary and cross‑curricular links with maths, computing and reading. Practical investigations are at the heart of our approach, helping pupils become confident, collaborative learners. By Year 6, children demonstrate strong scientific knowledge, reasoning skills and enthusiasm for further scientific study.
