At Ruskington Chestnut Street Primary Academy, we aim to ensure all children become confident, responsible and creative users of technology. Our computing curriculum prepares pupils for a digital future by developing their skills in communication, programming, information handling, digital skills and online safety. Following the National Curriculum and NCCE (National Centre Computing Excellence) scheme, children build knowledge progressively through three key strands (Information technology, Computer science and Digital literacy), using both plugged and unplugged activities. Pupils learn programming through tools such as Scratch, Scratch Jr and Beebots. There are many opportunities for children to apply their digital skills across the wider curriculum. We provide a safe digital environment where all children can explore, create and connect confidently, regardless of background or ability.
