At Ruskington Chestnut Street CofE Primary Academy, we believe learning a foreign language broadens children’s horizons and fosters an appreciation of other cultures. Through weekly French lessons in Key Stage 2, pupils develop skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing, gaining confidence in communicating for practical purposes. Our curriculum nurtures curiosity, encourages new ways of thinking and helps children understand how languages work. By exploring French vocabulary, culture and everyday conversations, pupils build a strong foundation for future language learning. When children leave Chestnut Street, they are equipped with enthusiasm, cultural awareness and the confidence to continue their language journey at secondary school.
